And from my bed I did creep
While my family in silence slept
Down the stairway I had crept
I saw only by moonlight
And ran my hand along the wall
So I would not trip and fall
The journey made without a sound
And then I thought that this was scary
For sure it was extrordinary
The steps had always squeaked and groaned
And now I moved about in silence
This was sure a case for science
Squinting through the dim lit gloom
I looked across the dining table
I'll tell it all if I'm able...
I had woke from dreamless sleep
Not daring to turn on the light
Finally now I was down
This old house had creaked and moaned
Now standing in the living room
